A straight account of where the design happens, where the components come from, what we do in Sydney — and what you can check for yourself.
The short answer
Breath Trailers are designed and developed in Sydney, with components sourced from Australia, Japan and China. Major chassis and body components are manufactured overseas in China, and suspension is sourced through Japan, along with selected welding materials. Final assembly, electrical and plumbing integration, customisation, finishing and quality checks take place in Sydney.
We do not describe our campers as “100% Australian made”, because that is not what they are. In Australia, country-of-origin claims are governed by the Australian Consumer Law: a “made in” claim requires the product to undergo its last substantial transformation in that country. We would not meet that bar, so we describe exactly what happens instead and let you judge.

Every Breath Trailer starts with a Sydney-led design brief: the layout, the towing practicality, the storage, the off-grid capability and the option set — decided against Australian roads, distances and conditions. The same brief sets the specification, model by model. Breath Trailer holds three registered designs covering the Breath Plus, Ultra and Max models.
Why Australian expertise matters →Sourcing
A camper trailer is not a single-material product. The chassis, shell, running gear, windows and electrical hardware are specialised components from specialised manufacturers — true of essentially every camper on the Australian market. Breath Trailer sources components from Australia, Japan and China: suspension is sourced through Japan, along with selected welding materials, and major chassis and body components are manufactured by production partners in China according to Breath Trailer’s product specifications.

Once the components arrive, our Sydney team completes final assembly, selected welding and fabrication, plumbing and water systems, cabinetry, electrical, solar and battery integration, appliance and accessory installation, finishing, testing and quality checks, and the handover walkthrough of your specific trailer.

Quality is delivered through documented checks rather than claims: the pre-delivery inspection, the electrical testing, and the sign-off before a trailer is released to its owner. We publish what those checks actually cover.
How we test every trailer →Support
When something goes wrong, you contact the team that specified your trailer, completed its fit-out and tested it. That team is in Sydney, at a physical address you can visit, and can look up your specific build.

Every new trailer supplied to the Australian market at or under 4,500 kg ATM requires Commonwealth approval and entry on the Register of Approved Vehicles, built to the applicable Australian Design Rules. Ask any manufacturer for the approval details before you pay a deposit.
Ask to photograph them. The compliance plate carries the manufacturer, build date, ATM, GTM, tare weight, tyre specifications and the formal ADR compliance statement. Everything on it is checkable.
Take the ATM, subtract the tare, and you have the total weight you are permitted to carry — water, gear, accessories, everything. Do this before you buy.
Who honours it, where the work is carried out, who pays for transport, and what voids it. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply regardless of what any warranty document says.

Yes. The design brief, the layout, the specification and the option set are led from Sydney, and are decided against Australian roads, distances and camping conditions.
Breath Trailer coordinates a hybrid manufacturing process involving international component suppliers and its Australian operations. Major chassis and body components are manufactured by production partners in China according to Breath Trailer specifications. Final assembly, installation, customisation, testing and handover are completed by the Breath Trailer team at our Holroyd facility in Sydney.
Each trailer goes through fit-out and finishing, electrical connection of the 12V, charging and solar systems, then testing and a pre-delivery inspection before it is released to its owner. Every trailer must also meet the Australian Design Rules and be entered on the Register of Approved Vehicles.
